What is NRA?
National Recruitment Agency (NRA) is proposed by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, NRA is a new recruitment agency that will be set up to conduct the screening test known as the common eligibility test (CET).
What is CET?
Common Eligibility Test (CET) is a screening/preliminary test that will be conducted by the newly approved NRA for several preliminary exams conducted for Group-B and -C non-technical and non-gazetted posts.
The preliminary exam of SSC, RRB, and IBPS will be conducted by NRA CET.
Exams to be Conducted by NRA.
The first round of the selection process which is the screening process (Tier 1 or Prelims) will be taken under CET for the following exams:
- SSC: Staff Selection Commission
- RRB: Railway Recruitment Board
- IBPS: Institute of Banking Personnel Selection
When will NRA CET Conduct?
As an official announcement by Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister. NRA CET exam has been scheduled to be conducted across the country including two centers of Ladakh (Leh & Kargil), in early 2022. CET will be held as soon as the recruitment agency is well prepared and ready, to begin with, the examination process.
Some Important Points about NRA CET
- The NRA CET recruitment process idea is supposed to be set perfectly in the modern education system as well as the present competition level.
- NRA CET will reduce the number of exams conducted by the various exam conducting bodies.
- Candidate get the least load of several exams and will get more time to prepare for prelims.
- This examination will save money and time for both the candidates and recruitment agencies.
- The NRA CET can curb corruption and scams to a great extent.
- CET will be conducted for 3 Levels; Graduate, 12th Pass, and 10th Pass for Non-Technical (Group B & C Posts) for which the recruitment is presently conducted by SSC, RRBs & IBPS.
- After some time some other recruiting agencies will also be included in the proposal of NRA CET.
- The exam will be conducted in 12 different languages and there will be at least one center in every district.
- This exam will be conducted twice a year with a validity of three years.
NRA CET Syllabus
The CET syllabus 2021-2022 will be mostly dependent on the current exams for Bank, SSC & Railways. The final syllabus for the NRA CET will be released on the official website of the National Recruitment Agency (NRA). There will be one common CET Syllabus which is in-line with the existing preliminary examinations for Bank, SSC & Railways.

Syllabus for General Reasoning and Intelligence-
Seating Arrangement, Syllogism, Blood Relations, Puzzles, Inequalities, Input-Output, Coding-Decoding, Data Sufficiency Order and Ranking, Alphanumeric Series, Distance and Direction, Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning, Charts Completion of Patterns, Classifications, Character Puzzles, Image Analysis, Logical Sequence of Words, Analogies Number Series, Venn Diagram, Conclusions and Decision making Pattern, folding & Unfolding, Semantic Analogy, Analytical Reasoning, Social Intelligence, Emotional Intelligence, Word Building, Similarities & Differences, Visual Memory, Space Visualization. etc.
Syllabus for Quantitative Aptitude:
Number System, Data Interpretation, Simplification, Data Sufficiency, Ratio and Proportion, Discounts, Averages, Percentages, Profit and Loss, Time Work and Distance, Rate of Interest, Probability, Permutation and Combination, Geometry, Decimals, Mensuration, Simple and Compound Interest, Elementary Algebra, Discount, LCM, HCF, Elementary Statistics, Simplification, Trigonometry, Fractions, Tables and Graphs, etc.
Syllabus for General Awareness:
Current Affairs and Static G.K., News of Games and Sports, Awareness about Art and Culture of India, News about United Nations and Other important organizations, Flora and Fauna of India, Famous people all over the world and their achievements, International and National Awareness Countries, Currencies and Capitals Books, Authors and Awards, Headquarters of Important Organizations, Prime Minister Schemes, Government Policies, Important Dates and Events, Economics and finance, History and Politics, Physics, Biology, etc.
Syllabus for English Language:
Reading Comprehension, Cloze Test, Detection of Errors, Improving Sentences and paragraphs, Completion of paragraphs, Para jumbling, Fill in the blanks, Parts of speech, Modes of narration, Prepositions, Voice Change, Sentence Structure, Adjectives, Clauses, One Word Substitution, etc.
CET Score and it's Validity
- One's CET mark will be valid until three years from the date of examination.
- One can give the CET exam again in the next year to improve their NRA CET Score of previous year.
- Tier 1 or Prelims exam score can be based on CET score.
- CET is only the screening test for CET SSC, CET RRB and CET IBPS exams.
- Score will be eligible for State & UTs level Government exams.
- The public sector undertakings (PSUs) and also the private sector may consider CET Score in future.
NRA CET Eligibility
The basic NRA CET eligibility criteria below:
Educational qualification:
NRA CET exam will be conducted at three different levels – Class 10, Class 12 and graduation level. The candidates who have cleared any of the three level are all eligible to apply.
Age limit:
There will be an upper age limit for the exam. The age limit will different as per the post for which the candidate will apply. However, there will be relaxations in the upper age limit for candidates belonging to reserved categories such as Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Class (OBC), Persons with Disability (PwD), etc.
Number of attempts:
There is no limit on the number of attempts one can take for the exam, subject to the upper age limit prescribed.

NRA CET Selection Process step by step are given below to get a fair idea about how the process is going to be conduct.
Step 1: Fill NRA CET application form - As the first step, The candidates have to fill an Application Form in Online mode after the announcement made by the officials.
Step 2: Download CET Admit Card or Hall Ticket: NRA will release the admit card for CET exam which can be downloaded online from its official website.
Step 3: Appear for NRA CET paper : candidates will have to appear for their respective NRA CET prelims paper in online mode. Only MCQ questions will be asked.

Step 4: Appear for Next Round of your Desired Exam: Selected Candidate can appear for the next stages of your desired recruitment- Bank, SSC, Railways or State Level Exams based on the cut-off marks.
